Intergroup Meeting minutes for 11-20-2006

The meeting opened with the Serenity Prayer, Twelve traditions and introductions.
Minutes were reviewed from the last meeting. Laura F. asked that the minutes be changed to reflect that Laura is waiting for a report from the Annual Central Office Managers Conference.
Treasurers Report: Vacant. (Laura): $16,000 was transferred from checking to the Prudent Reserve in November. All bills are paid. There are some IRS penalties for late filings from some years back. An excuse letter was filed.
Office Manager Report: (Laura) There were 327 contacts in October. Volunteers are still needed to cover shifts and to substitute. Tom Langley is holding a meeting at Central Office on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; contributions are being made to Central Office from the group. The contract for the copier is up in April and the sales people are beginning to make suggestions toward an upgrade.
H & I: Trevor sent in a written report. November 13th meeting had new people from California showing interest in the committee. Trevor has been attending District 4 meetings to give H & I updates and encourage support. SLI is greatest expense for the committee and one they feel is very valuable.
Website and Computer report: (Dave) Schedule will be updated December 1st. There were 3961 hits on the website the past month, which is up from previous months.
Soberfest Report: (Doug) None.
Intergroup Liaison Report: (Anita) A PI/CPC presentation given through DHS went well. There will be a workshop for speaking outside of AA meetings scheduled in January. Unity Workshop went well. GSR school with Dave A. will be in February. Tammy A. is the new Grapevine Representative for District 4.
Al-Anon Report: (Joyce) Joyce has brought new schedules, books, and Al-Ateen information as well as event information to Central Office.
Eye Opener Report: (Cori) No report.
Office Volunteer Coordinator: Vacant.
Outreach Coordinator: No Report.
Phone Coordinator: Diana announced that new circumstances may mean that she will have to move and that we may need a new Phone Coordinator.
Old Business: GSO was called regarding the donations by an individual exceeding $2000 annually. Central Office was told that they could decide for themselves what limit to put on these donations.
New Business: Justin M. was nominated as the new WVI Treasurer. Laura will call GSO and see if they have suggestions on how to handle the IRS issue. We will also be looking for advice from a member who has knowledge on charitable tax laws. A raise for Laura will be discussed.
