Treasurers Report: Vacant. (Laura) Central Office had a total of $3,602.38 in donations, and $2,268.88 in outflows for the month of September leaving Central Office in the black $1,333.50. Laura has put together a spreadsheet for the last 5 years spending. Patty did an audit of the books for Central Office and everything looks fine. Central Office has been without a Treasurer for the last 10 months. It was suggested that we go to group meetings and try to recruit a treasurer. Accepted.
Office Manager Report: (Laura) Central office had 304 contacts for the month of September and has had 2750 contacts YTD. Messages being left at Central Office have been down due having the Phone Coordinator in place. There is an annual conference for Central Office Managers and we have not attended due to not having enough money. Laura would like to attend this year. Central Office is still looking for volunteers. Anyone interested can contact Laura at Central Office. Accepted.
H&I Committee: (Andy K.) Andy has brought a copy of H&I financials for groups to copy.
Website and Computer report: (Dave) Schedules and events are up to date as of 10-01-06. Dave revamped glitches on individual pages on website to make the site more user friendly. There is a lot of spam on open.org. Dave has talked with them and they have little spam control. They said there isn’t enough server space to set it up. One alternative is to change E-mail addresses to one that has spam control, or keep the current and have it go through Laura’s home E-mail for spam screening. Accepted.
Soberfest Report: (Doug) Soberfest does not have a finalized program yet. The Al-Anon speaker is set, but are looking for an Alateen speaker. They are going to spend $3164.00 on airfare for speakers. Joe H. is the new registration chair for Soberfest. The carwash fundraiser raised $200.30. The Saturday Evening Post raffle is doing well ($75.00 last month). Tickets are 3 for $5.00 or 7 for $10.00. Tom will M.C. the raffle. There will be a potluck and comedy show on Friday, but all plans are not finalized.
Al-Anon Report: (Joyce) Joyce is the new Al-Anon liaison. Al-Anon wanted to thank AA for the chili feed. Volunteers are asking for more Al-Anon books at Central Office. They also asked about the possibility of having Alateen books at Central Office.
Eye Opener Report: (Cori) Cori needs to have Gratitudes turned in by October 25th for the November Eye Opener. 200 word limit on articles.
District 4: No Report.
Office Volunteer
Coordinator: Vacant.
Outreach Coordinator: No
Report.
Phone Coordinator: No Report.
Old Business: Patty called New York regarding donation maximums for Central Office. They said the limit set up is for GSO only. Groups can set their own limits. Concerns were raised as to the impact of high contributions from individuals. Possible tax implications? Do we want to set up our own limit? The individual donating the high contributions doesn’t want to be an influence in AA. Regarding the website, it was decided in talking with individual groups, that it would be acceptable to list most AA related events and that there would be no conflict with the 3rd tradition, however, possibly limiting it to local events due to the fact that there is already outside links that advertise individual events. Approved.
New Business: Alateen books have been approved to be carried at Central Office. Approved.
Meeting adjourned.
