Intergroup Meeting Minutes for 08-21-2006

The meeting opened with the Pre-amble, Serenity Prayer and the 12 Traditions.

Minutes were reviewed from the last meeting. Approved.

Treasurers Report:  (Laura)  All bills are current and Quarterly Payroll taxes are paid.  Central Office was $31.19 in the black coming out of July.  The price of bronze coins is going up $.05 cents each as of 09-01-2006.  Will increase expenses approximately $100.00 a year. Accepted.

Office Manager Report: (Laura) Central office had 334 contacts for the month of July and has had 2176 contacts YTD.  KISS has moved its monthly business meeting to the 1st Monday at Central Office.  Central Office will be closed on Labor Day.  After hour call problems are getting worse, we need more volunteers.  Requires 1 year sobriety. The message on the answering with a few meetings listed is no longer available.  Diana W. has offered to be the new Phone Coordinator. Accepted.  Central Office will be looking at posting a meeting schedule in the window of Central Office or having them available outside the door.  Accepted.

H&I Committee, (Trevor)  Reviewed the budget for the year.  Some Groups were concerned with the transparency of where the Groups H&I donations go.  They will be posting the H&I budget at Central Office for clarification.  Accepted.

Website and Computer report: (Dave) Schedules are up to date. Corrections from lasts months meeting have been done.  Bridgeway has been added to the sources section.  Open.org has posted on its’ site that it will operate as is into the future.  The website had 3,643 successful downloads in July.  The Eye Opener is posted.  Editor Cori’s E-mail address is posted for the Eye Opener.  A map has been placed on the website for directions to Central Office that is not connected to any business links.  It was suggested that we bring to other meetings that they can post events on the website.  A suggestion was made as to the possibility of a blog section be put on the website. Tabled. Report Accepted.

Intergroup Liaison:  Not available.

District 4:  No Report.

Al-Anon: (Sallee)  Books are available and selling at Central Office.

Office Volunteer Coordinator:  Vacant.

Outreach Coordinator: (Angela G.) Suggested that we go to other meetings and talk about what Central Office does. Recruit more Group Representatives.

Soberfest: (Doug)  All speakers are confirmed.  Current balance for Soberfest is $3,050.17.  Raffle tickets will be sold at Soberfest.  Sales are doing well.  The dance at Soberfest will be free to registered guests, with a $5.00 charge if not registered.  There is a problem with the storage of Soberfest supplies.  They used to be kept at Central Office, but were moved due to space. They are looking at the possibility of storing them there again.  Open to other alternatives, hoping not to have to pay monthly storage fees.  Bills are being paid ahead of time for Soberfest.  Soberfest monthly meetings are looking at a new home.

Phone Coordinator: (Diana W.)  New Coordinator Diana will get together with other members to get up to speed.  Looking for after hour volunteers to take calls.

Old Business: (Don E.)  The appreciation picnic at Don‘s was a lot of fun.  Central Office is still concerned with adequate donations from groups.  Approved.

New Business:  District 4 will be having their workshop on October 21, 2006.  They are looking for group participation.  Intergroup is looking at how they will participate, possibly have a manned table with literature/handouts.  The new Phone Coordinator (Diana W.) will look at answering phones after hours, if volunteers are not available.  Central Office will post a large schedule in the window.  District 4 will be having a Celebration of Sobriety on 09-16-2006 from 10am-2pm.  B.J. asked for permission to put the phone number of Central Office as well as the website address on the handouts.  An idea was proposed to send “Thank You” notes to Groups for their contributions to Central Office.  Include these on the Groups receipts and take to their meetings.  Still looking for more volunteers for prison meetings.  Approved.
