Treasurers Report: (Laura) All bills are current. Due to 1st quarter taxes and residual moving expenses, Central Office was in the black $191.41. YTD actual/budget numbers are looking good, but we are coming into slow months for contributions. Approved.
Office Manager Report: (Laura) Central office had 327 contacts for the month of June and has had 1842 contacts YTD. Central Office is also going to consider phone messages as contacts. Chris M. has joined as a new volunteer and Connell has returned as volunteer. Laura is still trying to get a parking permit so that the Office Manager can park in the residential parking, saving the limited parking for visitors. A “WVI Central Office” sign has been placed on the street side of the complex. Approved.
H&I Committee, (Andy K.) Walter R. has stepped down as Chair. Trevor is the new Chair, with Andy K. as Co-Chair.
Website and Computer report: (Dave) Schedules are up to date with Bridgeway meeting added. There was a question on whether Detox is Profit or Non-Profit. It was decided to list Bridgeway as one of the facilities that H&I serves. Motion to change approved. The Eye Opener is on the website. A suggestion was brought up to add a E-mail link for a direct line to Cori, Eye Opener Editor. Accepted.
Intergroup Liaison: (Anita C.) No meeting last month.
District 4: No Report.
Al-Anon: (Sallee) No Concerns. Working on getting free literature for Central Office. Approved.
Office Volunteer Coordinator: Vacant.
Outreach Coordinator: No Report.
Soberfest: (Doug) All speakers are now booked. Still working on registration pricing. The raffle for the Saturday Evening Post is doing well. The entertainment for this year will be provided by Randy, the DJ from last year. The Al-Anon speaker will be Sandy J.. The monthly Soberfest meeting will be moving due to Central Office being too small. Literature for Soberfest will come from WVI.
Phone Coordinator: Vacant.
Old Business: (Don E.) General Service Office was contacted regarding having the “AA” triangle symbol versus having the letters “AA” in the window. They said it was up to the individual committees to make that decision. It was decided that we would have the letters “AA” for better identification for individuals needing to find it. Approved.
New Business: There was a concern brought up that links on the website such as Mapquest would take users to “businesses ads.” It was suggested to look for alternatives such as an Adobe based map that would just have the map without an outside link. Will be discussed further. A motion was put in to have a E-mail link for the Eye Opener (Cori) on the website. Approved.
There are still positions open at Central Office. Office Volunteer Coordinator, Treasurer and Phone Coordinator. We need to spread this info to our home groups to get filled. Cori will make cards to take to groups with the positions, requirements, terms. Outreach is still looking for a alternate.
Don E. Will be having a appreciation potluck/picnic for the volunteers who helped move Central Office. It will be on August 13, 2006. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be provided. Please R.S.V.P. With Don.
Meeting adjourned.
