I.          Meeting was called to order

Those present: Trevor M, Jed H, Erin C, John S, Jolynne S, Susan M, Jane A, Greg M, Kathy M, Fred D & Gene H.

            B.  Additions/Changes to agenda: none

 

II.         Reports

 

            A.  Secretary’s Report               Reported by:     None, to be emailed out.

 

            B.  The Bridge                           Reported by:     Trevor

Still vacant. Gene inquired to length of clean time needed to fill position.  Trevor thinks one year, perhaps less if they have a solid program.  Position requirements: Chair receives inmate cards from Central Office and assigns them to AA volunteers, from provided list.

 

            C.  Jails                                     Reported by:     Jane A.

Marion County Jail: Every other Monday @ 7pm (last being 2/4/08) a meeting is taken into the women’s side.  Currently taken by two women.

Men’s side is set at the same time, but no meeting is being taken in.  John S is in the process of being approved to begin taking in men’s side.  For requirements or interest contact Jane A. 503.362.6625. 

Polk County Jail: Men’s meeting every Monday. Erin will get more information from Dick C.  Not aware of any women’s meeting being taken in.

 

            D.  Inter-Group Liaison              Reported by:     Greg

                        Briefing Inter-Group regarding:

Erin being appointed to secretary position, the need of men and women for Marion and Polk County Jails, the jail meetings are gender specific, at Soberfest 2008 the request for table space, the need for phone volunteers, the need for new phone coordinator.

 

            E.  Institutions                                 Reported by:     Jed

Bridgeway Tuesday meeting has a new facilitator, Pam.  The message was given to Pam to begin attending the H&I monthly meeting.  Tuesday’s could use better attendance.  Gene said he is committed to going attending and bringing at least one other woman and man with him each time.  Saturday’s is going well, with a healthy attendance.

 

III.        Old Business                                    Reported by:     Trevor

 

A.     Trevor - Wait to vote on the Jail Chairperson, Jane A. will temp until voting happens.

B.     Greg – Would like a “strong” mission statement.  He was instructed to draft something and present it.  Until then it will be tabled.

C.     Trevor - Separating the H&I and State Corrections bulletin board at the Central Office.  Laura will open and separate the mail to assist in getting mail to the correct committee.

 

IV.        New Business

           

A.     Passed

A.a.           Post H& I minutes (doh! I am published?) on the inner group website.

A.b.           Advertise vacant service positions in the Eye Opener.

A.c.           Greg will request the 2009 Soberfest committee have a combined panel (State & H&I committee) conducted on Saturday instead of Friday. Also requesting an H&I information table.
