District 4

August 2006 Minutes

 

The meeting was opened at 7:00 p.m. in the new location at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church by Bill B. with the Serenity Prayer. There were 18 people in attendance. The 12 Concepts of World Service were read, and introductions were made.  We welcomed Trevor as the new H & I Chair, and Kurt M. (GSR) and Sarah M. (Alternate GSR) from Group 1. The agenda was approved. The minutes from the July meeting were read and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Fred D reported that combined balances from checking and savings equal $3,328.30 less our prudent reserve of $2,625.00, which leaves a balance of $703.30 in unassigned funds. Fred also reported that Monica has been sending Thank – You notes to people who have donated monies to District 4; Fred believes the notes are an effective way to boost donations.

 

Archives: Billy M. reported that not many group histories have been returned. He will talk to Dave S. about having the History Form available online.

 

CPC: Keary deferred to BJ for her report.

 

PI: BJ announced that a Recovery Fair will take place in Bush Park on September 15th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00p.m. There will be Recovery Speakers, Native American Drummers, Resource Booths, Children's Activities and door prizes.  AA will have a booth there.

 

Grapevine: Warren G. reported that there was nothing new to report.

 

Intergroup Liaison: No new report, due to meeting date change.

 

H & I: Trevor reported that the committee is going through transition. He will soon post the budget at Central Office and have expense reports for groups who have questions as to where money is distributed.

 

Alternate DCM: Fred has visited Mt. Angel, Stayton, and Dallas meetings and picnics.  Fred will deliver new GSR packets to Central Office for pick-up.

 

DCM: Bill B. reported that the Activity Committee did an excellent job on the District Picnic. Shelly is to be commended!

 

Activity Committee: Shelly reported that about 60 people attended the picnic.  Tammy was a huge help.

 

Paula: The first meeting of the Workshop Committee had a good turnout. The work (play) shop is to take place on October 21st at Morningside Church from 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.  Please bring ideas for future workshops to the September meeting.

 

Discussion was had about being careful not to disturb the Step Study Group meeting at the same time in the same building.

 

The meeting was closed at 8:15 p.m. with the Lord’s Prayer.

 

Note: Tammy will be having surgery at the time of our September meeting. Let’s all say a prayer for her quick and total recovery.
